Datura wrightii should be best propagated by sowing seeds in spring in a warm, sunny location, and by overwintering its tuberous roots outdoors or in containers, ensuring they are kept dry.
Plants can also be increased by stem cuttings taken from the species’ shrubby growth.
Collect the spiny capsules when they are mature and dry IF THEY ARE ALLOWED TO totally ripen, THEY WILL BURST OPEN AND SPREAD EVERYWHERE. Leaving you with the task of trying to find as many as you can.
The specific epithet auriculata means “with ears”, referring to the shape of the leaves,
