La Marina San Fulgencio Town Hall

Padron now very important to all residents well being

The Padron why bother to register?

Padron is used by the government to assess grant money to allocate each year to a local area such as ours hence we all need to be listed. Just plain common sense

I have seen differing post on the Padron and read about it in the papers.

The padron is used by the government to assess grant money to allocate each year to a local area.
This money covers all services. Health, Police, Schools, Social Services and other functions.
It is the responsibility of the residents in the areas to update their Padron or we the local community, lose out on the money we require to keep the council going.
All persons are registered on the Padron are counted, that is, Residents and non-residents.
The figure counted is of the 1st of January each year.

Padron La Marina
Sign Padron

There are 15,000 Residents on average living in San Fulgencio La Marina. But ONLY 9,500 have registered so far. So 5,500 local residents are still NOT registered and living amongst us. So that LARGE group is not allowing the area to recive its full grant moneycosting LEGAL RESIDENTS here money.
Plus of course, everyone living here need also to be a resident with TIE or Green card.
The Padron why bother to register?
With the 90-day rule in place, this problem is it seems not about Brits BUT It IS frequent for the fast-growing number of European residents, WHO HAVE NOT bothered to register yet. This is a Legal requirement for all of us living here.
Padron is used by the government to assess grant money to allocate each year to a local area such as ours hence we all need to be listed. Just plain common sense. It is FREE to sign up and a Legal responsibility here in Spain at the Local Town Hall. It IS mandatory after 90 days stay in Spain.

Keep in mind and we don’t receive subsidy for them from the Central Government for any of them. PLUS of course the more we get in grants BASED ON NUMBERS HERE the less our Suma is increased.

=========================
You are required by law to register yourself on the Padron Municipal de Habitantes if you aim to live in Spain for more than 180 days of any year. The padrón is used in Spain for election as well as census purposes. The more people who are registered in a certain area, the more public services said area will receive.

Should non-residents be on the Padron in Spain?

If you are NOT ACTUALLY RESIDENT in Spain but are merely a second home owner you should NOT register on the Padron other than to purchase a car etc and, once you have done this you should ensure that you deregister, so as to ensure you do not fall foul of becoming a Tax resident or that Hacienda do not.
What are the non residency rules in Spain?

Your own Disability allowance pension

Keep in mind that a few of the other European countries do not allow their Disability pensions to be drawn anywhere other than the country of origin; hence, they can only be out of that country for a maximum of 90 days a year, and hence it is illegal to also be registered here in Spain. Check with your own Country.

Holland Dutch rules

If you receive an invalidity pension from Holland and move to Spain, you can generally stay there long-term, but there are factors to consider regarding your pension and residency rights. You can typically receive your Dutch pension while living in Spain, but your Dutch state pension (AOW) accrual may stop. To maintain your Dutch pension, you might need to continue paying voluntary contributions. Additionally, if you plan to reside in Spain long-term, you will need to meet the requirements for Spanish residency and potentially apply for a Spanish non-contributory disability pension if you meet the criteria.

==================================
There are three main criteria to consider a person Non resident in Spain: That they reside in the country for a period of less than 6 months. The person’s main professional activities are not located in Spain. The main members of the family unit (spouse and children) do not reside in Spain for the whole year.

Obtaining a Padron

What is a Padron certificate in English?
The “empadronamiento”, also known as the “padrón municipal de habitantes”, is a municipal register or census record, similar to an electoral roll. The town hall holds this list, and it is a way for them to know how many people live within their area of jurisdiction.
