The town of San Isidro is a municipality located in the south of the province of Alicante, in the Vega Baja region.
This area is generically called Saladares , due to the nature of the land and the character of its soils.
The term San Isidro extends from the northern slope of the Albatera mountain range to the center oF Orihuela.

Most of the area of San Isidro has had a very good local highway system installed recently bringing it up to a dual carridgeway system.

The San Isidro ALBATERA-CATRAL Railway Station is located 45 km from Alicante, 145 km from Denia, 86 km from Benidorm and 30 km from Torrevieja, which connects Alicante and Murcia on its Cercanías network, 100 meters from its population center
The National Colonization Institute, IRYDA , declares on June 27, 1941, the area as of national interest within its irrigation plains; so today its land has been recovered for cultivation, being more than 90% productive, with herbaceous crops, cereals such as wheat and barley, as well as pomegranate trees.
San Isidro has three springs, in the Cabezos area, one of which supplies the town’s swimming pool.
The other two are very small and are used to irrigate the land next to the waters of the Segura River through ditches and canals.
