Castillo de Tebar. 12th century, the castle protected the access to water, so it controlled the irrigation and nearby orchards, where farmers settled, maintaining crops, cattle. Protecting the area from African Berber pirates.
Castillo de Chuecos: Gave up trying to find this castle ruin as all tracks leading to it was chained off.
Castillo de Feli: 12th century, 12km from Lorca, more of a watch tower and protected the local farmers in the area.
Lorca Castle: 9th & 15th century castle, consists of a series of defensive structures protection the town. Open to the public with guided tours in Spanish & English. Check out their website for further details.
